Great Yarmouth to King's Lynn on the Norfolk Coast Cycleway

Between King's Lynn and Great Yarmouth, the Norfolk Coast Cycleway travels along the coastline. There are both on- and off-road routes that use peaceful lanes and bike trails. The route travels through some of Norfolk's most breathtaking coastal scenery, including the sand dunes at Winterton-on-Sea, the beach at Sea Palling, and the salt marshes of Holme and Scolt Head islands.

Along the journey, there are a lot of tourist destinations as well, like Sheringham Park, Houghton Hall, and Holkham Hall. Although some sections could be more difficult for novices, the route is appropriate for cyclists of all skill levels.

North Norfolk Coast canoeing, kayaking, and paddleboarding

A fantastic way to enjoy Norfolk's coastal seas, scenery, and wildlife is to go kayaking, canoeing, or paddle boarding. In Norfolk, there are numerous reliable rental businesses that offer tools and instruction. There are also lots of chances for experienced kayakers and canoeists to get out on the lake by themselves. From protected creeks and rivers to more difficult open-water crossings, Norfolk's coastline is diverse and provides a variety of various paddling experiences.

Regardless of your level of skill, take sure to check the tide times and the weather before setting out because things can change fast on the ocean.

HEACHAM AND HUNSTANTON SUNSETS

Both Heacham and Hunstanton make for great sunset viewing locations. You'll like sitting on the beach and watching the sun set over the water if you're fortunate enough to have some nice weather. Since Heacham Beach is close to our campground, it's a great location for this.

AREA OF CAMPING ON THE NORFOLK COAST

Wildlife in Norfolk

The Norfolk coast is home to a wide range of animal species, making it the ideal destination for both enthusiasts and families. Visit Park Farm and take a tour with a guide while riding on the back of a tractor trailer, ride the Wash Monster across The Wash to see the seals, or perhaps take a stroll down to Wild Ken Hill, a rewilding project aimed at restoring 1500 acres of Norfolk land to nature so it can once again become wild. View populations of wild creatures, including beavers, cattle, wild boar, kites, owls, bats, and more for a memorable experience.

Whether you're riding a bike or walking, there are lots of lovely seaside trails to discover. If biking isn't your thing, consider going for a leisurely stroll (or strenuous trek!) down the coast. Beautiful scenery can be seen all along Peddars Way, including breathtaking cliffs and abundant wildlife. Consider yourself to be somewhat of a water baby? Hire a paddle board to brave the British seas! The ideal date activity is paddling leisurely through the open sea while taking in the local landscape and sunsets! Kayaking is another another ideal sport for couples. Together, rent a kayak and paddle around the stunning Norfolk coast.

AREA OF RESTAURANT AND BAR

The Norfolk coast is teeming with independent stores and establishments offering a wide variety of food produced locally. The Rose & Crown has all the characteristics of a traditional Norfolk village inn, including narrow hallways and tucked-away nooks, low ceilings and antique timbers, parquet floors, log fires, great beer, welcoming staff, and a laid-back, informal ambiance. They also welcome dogs with open arms! Try Thornham Deli, which is a little further away and takes approximately 20 minutes to get to, if you're looking for something new. The drive is worthwhile, though, because there are lunches, coffee, and fresh cakes available. Take a stroll down the lovely beach, where birds utilize the dunes as nesting sites, and then unwind with a coffee at the cafe.
